We invite you to experience a magical psychedelic «ACID» journey. A journey out of the normal world and into the deep forest of eternity. Available now on Scantraxx, Devin Wild’s EP «ACID» takes you from start to finish, inside out, from microcosm to macrocosm. Things will never be the same again.

Devin Wild will be your companion on this wacky and mind-blowing journey through consciousness, guiding and guiding you every step of the way. He has prepared a four-step auditory curriculum that will serve you as a crash course in the art of travel.

Devin Wild’s EP «ACID» is the ultimate multisensory journey. During the 22 minutes, you will hear a different sound profile influenced by other genres such as techno and drum & bass. You will be taken on a hallucinatory journey through universal consciousness, guided by the best.

The images are also neat, and each track is represented by the most mind-blowing and outlandish eye candy. It is recommended to consume the entire product at once to experience the full effects of ACID. All songs plus interludes were carefully designed in this particular order to give you the most rewarding and enjoyable journey.

We have had the pleasure of interviewing Devin Wild, and this has been the result.

Hi there ! Where can we find you right now? How did you start your day?

At this moment I’m in my studio. This is the place where I spend the most of my time haha. It’s basically my second home. Normally I start my days pretty calmly. I’m not really a morning kinda person so I get out of bed around 11 or something. I start the day with a shower, go to the studio, and drink a coffee.

When did the idea of starting a project start to take shape? Has it always been something you wanted to do?

This project is something I’ve thought about doing for a long time but never found the right time or the right ideas. The first thoughts came along maybe longer than a year ago. I love to work with certain themes and concepts. They give me more clear creative directions and it makes it easier to filter out things that don’t fit the overall theme / concept I’m working with.

How would you define the sound of your latest work? What is the concept behind?

I think this concept is a great hybrid between different styles of music. I love to bring different influences from the genres I love, for example drum and bass. That was also the idea behind this project in particular, trying to experiment as much as I feel like. I didn’t really think about things that ‘could work’ for the big audience or anything like that. This project is basically my mind explained with sound haha!

What artists are you interested in these days?

There are so many great artists out there. I like to explore genres, and not only check out the big names, but also some up-and-coming guys. Personally, I’ve been a big fan of Noisia for years. But besides electronic music I do also love to listen to movie scores. Danny Elfman is someone I got really inspired by. I’ve seen quite a lot of Tim Burton movies as a little kid because of Elfman’s music.

How do you manage to combine such disparate genres? How do you manage to give them unity and harmony? What do they have in common for you?

Cinematic music is something that has been done more often in hardstyle the last couple of years, so that wasn’t the most challenging to fit in. Techno also has quite a lot in common. Hardstyle back in the early 2000’s had a pretty similar structure as techno has these days. The energy levels are also similar — it’s pretty straightforward music. Because I have to listen to different types of music I always have some ideas in my mind. I always try to save them till I need one haha. Then the most challenging part is to get it to fit each other. Mostly, that’s one of my favorite parts of a creative process.

How would you define your sound?

I think my music is a nice mix between straightforward but also a little complex dancefloor music with a lot of themes and atmosphere. There are influences from techno, drum and bass and cinematic music, which I try to blend together with hardstyle.

Can you tell us something about your current or future projects?

At the moment I’m working on new solo releases. Some are more melodic, some are more experimental. I would love to do more projects like the ‘ACID’ EP, so you can definitely expect more like those!
