Hey man, how are you? How has your day started?
Nicely thanks ! This morning i started by checking some mastering i received for my new remix upcoming on Luv Shack Records.
Usually when im not teaching Computer Music, i’m working a lot on my productions.
What do you think about the music industry nowadays ?
Its a real paradox, so many interesting solutions
for labels and artists to publish their music but so hard to be heard
in a an oversaturated market with all the difficulties that we actually know.
What could you tell us about your release « Reboot Robot » ? When and how was it conceived?
After 2 remixes for mélopée, Boss Label Philippe offered me to release a EP.
I did these tracks a the end of 2021,The goal for me was to offer two visions of my work surrounded by Science Fiction. In a Way, the first track reflects the sound that people already know from my actual productions and for the second one, some of my musical influences from the 90’s like Techno / House or Progressive Music.
Instead of focusing on a specific sound, you prefer to cover various genres… Is there a key principle or philosophy that is essential as a producer when you produce music ?
I love a lot of different styles in music, so its always have been complicated for me to be in a unique genre. That’s why i like to be also eclectic in my dj sets, its one of the important thing i learned when i listened to Laurent Garnier in the 90’s .
Electronic music has a big role in my life that but i think its always good to keep an open mind on different genres, it helps to push you further in your creative process.
What relationship do you have with a label like Mélopée Records? How did you find out? What have been the first songs of the label that have made you vibrate?
With Philippe we entered in contact at the end of 2020.
It was on facebook, he told me that he appreciated my work, and i was interested on some Mélopée releases so he started sending me Promos.
Parissior, Brandski, Italoconnection have been the songs that i liked first from the label. This encounter resulted in a productive (2 remixes and now an EP) & friendly relationship.
Have there been people or groups that have helped you find your way as a producer?
Oh yes a lot ! I could name a lot of electronic producers that lead me to this way but at first i would say Jean Michel Jarre, and in different styles Prince, Art Of Noise, Pink Floyd, Hans Zimmer, Tangerine Dream, Genesis, Jan Hammer, Patrick Cowley, Giorgio Moroder …. to name a few. Listening to them was like taking private music lessons at home, on the musical and technical part, even if some productions secrets are keeping their mystery : )
What projects are you currently working on?
Im working on a new remix, and beside that, i’m producing new tracks, for labels.
Some of them are asking for demos since last year. I received a lot of demands, but i prefer to say no or you ll have to wait before sending anything im not satisfied with, that’s a respect for the label demand and my philosophy as a producer.
