Working in perfect harmony, Italy-based producers Fausto Fanizza & Thomas Schwartz have been working together for many years after meeting as neighbours. Finding excellent synergy, and experimenting with many different genres over the years, the pair have recently teamed up to release a remix on Purified Records of Serra 9 & Phoebe’s ‘Rain’. Chatting about the new release and music in general, we caught up with them in an exclusive interview below –
Hi guys! Where in the world are we speaking to you from?
Italy 🙂
How did you guys start collaborating? When did you first meet?
Ow, way back, way back. I (Thom) was just a teenager who loved listening to electronic music and playing the piano. Fausto was a deejay with a great passion for music. And we were neighbours!
You have worked together on a new remix on Purified Records, a remix of Serra 9’s ‘Rain’ Ft. Phoebe. Why did you pick this track to remix?
What did you want to convey in your rendition. Serra 9 and I (Fausto) curated the whole production of the single and after a meeting with Tom we decided to work on a brand new mix and additional production.
What artists are you interested in these days?
Berlin artists are among my favourite ones (Tom). I love Defected world and Anjuna as well as Nora’s sound!
What is your goal in producing music? What emotions do you want to evoke in the listener?
Our first goal is a bit egotistic. We want to create something that we like and makes us feel alive. Once this goal is achieved, we want to get our ‘message’ across and make the listener feel alive.
Can you tell us something about your current or future projects?
We’ve been working hard over the last 2 years. At the moment we are just focusing on coming up with some cool ideas. There is some brand new stuff coming out soon!
Thank you for speaking to us today! 🙂
