London-based multidisciplinary artist Zar, also known as Arun Dhanjal, has released his debut EP «Practice Makes Miracles» on ANARP Records. The 20-minute piece is a blend of techno, deep house, and UK garage, with delicate ambient passages inspired by Suzanne Ciani and James Holden. The EP is designed to be listened to in one sitting, with each track flowing into the next seamlessly. Zar’s use of a Buchla 200e emulator plugin created by Cloudlab for use within Reaktor influenced the sound of the EP. «Practice Makes Miracles» is club-influenced music for introspective listeners, reflecting on the duality between the magic of miracles and the mundanity of practice.
