When did the idea of starting a project start to take shape? Has it always been something you wanted to do?
I have been wanting to start my own label for a while but wasn’t sure how. Especially because I wanted the label to be vinyl only. I finally decided to start the label Impresión in November 2021 because realized what the labels I liked were doing. I learned about promo thanks to my debut release on Back Door Records.
How would you define the sound of your latest work? What is the concept behind?
My latest work is a minimal and deep lofi house project. It is about owning your sound and making the genre your own. I feel like Europeans are successful with electronic music because they make it their own very well. I include latin percussion because I am latin and have a lot of fun with it.
What artists are you interested in these days?
These days I am listening to a lot of local music because I host an open plug every Tuesday night.
How do you manage to combine such disparate genres? How do you manage to give them unity and harmony? What do they have in common for you?
I feel like when I combine Latin music with House it is the best combination. Although, it is kind of hard to do the breaks with latin but sometimes it works out 🙂 I think music is about experimenting and it can never hurt to try!
