Gravitone is a Milanese collective and label focused on techno, electronics and breaks. After a string of singles released between 2020 and 2021, we are excited to power our first Ep.
Natural Landscape is written and produced by Giovanni Sirtori, a young talent born in Milan. The sound of him has a dance floor attitude while being influenced by big names like Jon Hopkins, Moderat and Max Cooper.
We have had the pleasure of interviewing him and this has been the result.
Hi there ! Where can we find you right now? How did you start your day?
Hi! I’m Giovanni Sirtori, born in 1996. Right now I’m on the outskirts of Milan, my days start thinking about the final thesis in anthropology while I produce in the evening!
When did the idea of starting a project start to take shape? Has it always been something you wanted to do?
From the age of 16 I have always had the dream of publishing my music, in 2020 thanks to the Gravitone project this dream came true.
How would you define the sound of your latest work? What is the concept behind?
In this work you will find an elementary sound but at the same time studied and in continuous evolution. Behind this project lies my attention to climate change and the relationships we have with natural subjects.
What artists are you interested in these days?
There is no doubt, Max Cooper and Jon Hopkins.
How do you manage to combine such disparate genres? How do you manage to give them unity and harmony? What do they have in common for you?
The 4 tracks have little in common, but they are what was born from a path, from readings and from the events that happened during this pandemic period.
You will hear my musical influences, Burial, Paul Kalkbrenner, Jon Hopkins.
How would you define your sound?
It is a natural sound.
