sugartin is a new synth pop duo from Stuttgart on the Exlove records imprint. Iris and Daniel Varga are kicking off with a wonderful dreamy three-track EP named „25“.
Iris is responsible for the lyrics and the melodies for the band and sings the songs in her own soft manner. She sings in german, english and french. She is also part of the „Der wunderbare Frauenchor“ by Ines Martinez.
Daniel who is a member of the band Rework writes the songs on his beloved Telecaster, the Roland JX-3P synth and an old Squier JV Jazz Bass.
25 The EP is about early love, silly dreams and wasted opportunities. The songs can be described as softy-pop with beautiful melodies with much reverb and a little vocoder action. sugartin he has not stopped making proposals as interesting as they are unique, which have called into question the trite cliché that nothing is being produced that is out of uniformity in the market.
«25» is all one of intentions about the last trajectory of this artist, with more desire to experiment than to restate his usual formulas. A three-track EP that offers us a deep journey full of textures that evoke freedom, like the ocean breeze or a deep breath in the middle of nature. This renewed bet plays a lot, throughout its tracks, with light-dark.
The result is a mix of wild disco, very much in the vein of the philosophy that has characterized him throughout his career, but executed with coherence and synchronicity that seems to come out of a mathematical formula. sugartin consolidates itself with this album with a more refined sound, but also raised from a creative point of view necessary to avoid falling into drowsiness or boredom, to which the genre was tending due to inertia. From each note emerges a cluster of harmonic and melodic beauty, where the sounds evolve as we approach the central corpus of the theme, maintaining a constant rhythm, which makes us keep our feet on the ground, while the rest of the sounds free us and shoot us to the beyond
«25» is a rarity that connects this producer with new sounds, but without losing its festive essence, where the differences between musical styles and eras mix and harmonize, with tremendous lightness. sugartin has shown us once again, because in murky times, good music is not only made of electronic darkness.
